1. Food temperatures inside the walk in cooler were recorded at 45 - 46F. Must have walk in cooler serviced and submit a copy of a receipt of service to the Glens Falls Health Department. If the internal temperature of temperature control for safety (TCS) foods rise above 45F, these foods must be immediately moved to a properly functioning cooler. If TCS foods in this walk in cooler rise above 45F for a period more than 2-hours, these foods must be voluntarily discarded. 2. Reduced Oxygen Packaging (ROP) machine observed on counter in kitchen.. Per interview with head chef, this machine was used previously to vacuum sealed foods, but has not been used in quite some time. There were no food products observed in freezer or refrigeration storage at the facility that were vacuumed sealed at the facility. Provided education. Management is not interested in a waiver application at this time. 3. A Boil Water Order has been issued due to no detectable free chlorine residual in the potable water used in kitchen and dinning area. All ice machines must be unplugged, drained, and thoroughly cleaned & sanitized. Use of post mix soda system is prohibited until Boil Water Order has been lifted. All other conditions on the 9/27/2023 Sanitary Survey Inspection report must be followed. 4. All violations must be corrected in a timely manner or enforcement action may be issued.

Complainant states staff have been ignoring this issue for an extended period of time. The walk in cooler was seen to be holding temp adequately. Numerous items that were prepped yesterday measured at 45F or below. Staff routinely monitor the temp of the walk in cooler and have 3 internal thermometers to ensure it is holding temp. Staff also use metal stem probe thermometers to monitor food product internal temp. Per staff, the cooler was recharged last month but they have not been having any issues.

Hot water is present in facility. The ceiling over the coke machine was leaking, but has been repaired and corrected. Operator states it was a shingle issue that has been addressed. Facility plans to also replace the damaged wood above the coke unit. No leaks observed in facility during inspection. One refrigerator did have standing water present, but all food (except bread) has been moved out of it, and the facility is in the process of cleaning/repairing the unit. Facility must not store food items or chilled glasses in this unit until repairs have been complete. 3. All coolers were maintaining adequate temperatures at time of inspection.

Dataset Details

The New York State Department of Health's Bureau of Community Environmental Health and Food Protection works to protect the public health by assuring that food service establishments are operated in a manner that eliminates hazards through design and management, resulting in a decreased incidence of foodborne illness in our communities. The Bureau's Food Protection Program also coordinates foodborne outbreak investigations, analyzes the findings and uses this information to develop regulations and guidance designed to prevent similar outbreaks in the future. This data includes the name and location of food service establishments and the violations that were found at the time of their inspections. Violation details are collected on inspection reports (i.e., the actual food item, quantity and temperature of food found out of temperature control) as well as corrective actions for critical violations; this data set is limited to the violation number and the corresponding general violation description.

There are over 90,000 food service establishments in New York State. The Food Protection Program provides guidance and assistance to county and city health departments and State District Offices which in turn permit and inspect food service establishments, some institutional food services, temporary and mobile food service establishments and food and beverage vending machines. Each food service establishment is registered with facility name, business address, inspection dates, violations, etc.

To give New Yorkers the access they deserve to government data and information, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo launched the Open NY initiative in March 2013 and signed Executive Order 95. It directs state agencies to identify, catalog, and publish their data on the state's open data website administered by the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS). Open NY increases transparency, improves government performance, empowers New Yorkers to participate in government, and encourages research and economic opportunities statewide.
